If you have gone down to 12000 grit I think T-cut may be a bit course.
I use a milder abrasive like toothpaste or rouge powder, Talcum powder does a good job when you get that fine.
People laugh when I say Talcum powder but that only shows their ignorance, industrial talc (French chalk) comes in many grades and is widely used in the plastics industry for polishing and stiffening at production level.

Mmmm Talcum Powder helps with Stiffening ??? Need to give that some serious thought
