After a stressful day at work, where it seems I was the only one doing my job, and a rant about a nosey post office counter clerk who insisted she wanted to know what was in the parcel I was sending (it was a pen I made for a friend, but I was buggered if I was telling her that!), I retired to the man cave to make a pen.
As I tackled the joy and fun that is acrylic, the worries and stresses of the day vanished!

And as soon as it was assembled, the long haired general (the wife) took a shine to it, and laid claim to its ownership.

Oh well, today is a new day!

Very nice, I notice this trend from time to time as well. Where do they all go? I sometimes think the handbag must be like a Tardis.

Over here details on a parcel enable air freight or it does not travel that way this includes your signature on a form of Stat Declaration. Some post office staff in the US go further and can insist.

I can say my wife latched onto the first pen I ever made 8 years ago. It wasn't my best effort but she is very happy with it and never asked for another. Your pen is beautiful Adie.

The last pen I received from the USA in the Custom Declaration was different from normal it said Roller Ball Pen, penmaking supplies and a small bowl. Just saying penmaking supplies was a variation.

One time I got 150 blanks from Kentucky and I asked the supplier to number each blank on the end and send me a key naming for each number by E Mail. This enabled many unusual species freedom of passage.

Another experience one shipped on many parcels from the states the clerk in their post office demanded a separate declaration for each item this took for ever with real bastardry.

Relationships with petty PO employees certainly hurt the feeling of goodwill as did the person who served you that day Adie.

Peter.
