Oh George!! - I know there's a box inside, but that is definitely thinking outside of it. A wonderfully conceived piece. 1st prize for imagination and 1st prize for execution in my view.

Hi George just called my dearly beloved to view with me your creation (not as Thikas) the use of the mini man gives scale and the huge framing of the pic creates a gallery setting for the box. I have never heard of this nut before.

A well made piece and the pod add so much interest to the piece. I presume the pod held together at the join on its own or did you have to give it a hand with something like CA glue

thank you

there is not a lot to say Terry, I cut the pod to create the lid and base, then turned a cylinder as wide as I could to fit inside the base, then hollowed the cylinder and using epoxy glued it into the base, I did a similar thing for the lid and glued the plug into the lid. I had a problem as you could see into the pod around the lignum that was no glued in and it looked untidy, also the cut surface of the pod is white which looked odd against the dark exterior so I came up with the idea of turning two lignum washers and fitting them onto the lid and base which in effect created a closer to the pods internals, then I just shaped the washers to match the exterior shape of the pods except just a 1mm or so bigger.
