This weekends pen

I placed an order last week and with that order i got a free stick of Hut PPP wax. So this is my first waxed pen.
Am happy with the shape and like the satin feel of the wax, but my research says that the finish won’t last long.

A nice pen Ewan. You’re right about the wax finish not lasting long that’s why we use melamine or acrylic lacquer.

Ewan correct on two counts however so many turners use wax finish.Like the pen mate.

Nicely turned, I like a slightly thinner profile on slims, but it doesn't pay if we all liked the same thing
I still have a stick of PPP hut, it's a good quick finish but it's not durable and on open grained woods I found it left it flecky

yer i think i agree with you. however so far most of my pens have been made with someone on mind wife, mum etc and they wanted some thickness.

Great job, the shape of slimline is always debatable. but looks like a great finish, you will be right over friction polish tho.
