Hi all as usual I have to experiment with my pen turning so here is my latest Longwood I call it the Union Pen.
It's in Beech and Blackwood with plastic centre band finished with cellulose Laquer and Carnuba wax stick.
Please don't ask about the centre band as the answer is in the post title

The boxes come from Mastergrave in Bedford they have a website catalogue I only buy the blue ones at the moment as there is a problem with the green ones.
They are suitable for most of the pens we turn and they are not expensive.
The printing on the box I do on computer and they are adhesive labels hope this helps

Nice job Ian, I like the pen and the box, is that an inlay in the lid of the box or have you had them made.

I see you have your own domain name for a web site but have a btinternet email address. Is there a reason for that? ianbrodie@pensfromthewood.co.uk would be so much nicer.

Smart idea with the tiddlywinks, but it should be really be called Republique rather than Union.

Duh! if I'd have read the earlier mails I would have seen that it was an inlay.
