Timber yard Rochester

I was told to day about a company called Morgan timber in Rochester and have been told there offcut pile is about a 3\4 of an acre pile mountain for any one local might be worth a vist

i have a supplier that is opposite there yard so will pop in next time i go there

Borrow a big van Steve .... no bigger than that and bring it full of free offcuts to York with you :wink::funny:

I use Morgans quite often...there can be some good stuff if you like digging but sorry for the punn ...most is run of the mill...they have also a habbit of not supplying non sustainable timber...they have loads in the yard but wont sell it:sob:

But it does show how bad my geography is. I've just looked it up on google maps and its very near to Southend on Sea which is where the sailing club use the old minehunter HMS Wilton as their club house, my first ship in the Navy. I would like to see it again so might just pop over sometime. Do I need an extra cardie :funny:

Hi Paul...its the wrong side of the Thames for Southend and its actualy on the Medway...there is a guy in there who was cutting of cuts into pen blanks as a side but its never taken off....its more of a sawmill type timber yard where you buy meters of the stuff as apossed to the friendly family run stiles and bates(which is were i go) although it a 40mile round trip as to 5 with Morgans.
Its a bit horses for courses as i said earlier a LOT of nice wood if you want to dig
