Brought one of these the other day and set it up today.

Titan TTB579PLN 204mm Planer Thicknesser 230V | Jointers & Thicknessers | Screwfix.com

For £135 with the 10% discount that I got I am well impressed with it

It is a really robust bit of kit manufactured I believe in Russia.

It comes with a 2 year guarantee, ok not for industrial or heavy work but for hobby use I think it really fits the bill.

Ran some oak and mahogany through it today for some segmented bowl work, well chuffed with the result.

I got one the same as that but branded with the wood star name, very good tool apart from the useless Fence. you are better off using a bit of timber as a fence in my opinion! :rolling:

Vic, can the table be taken off easily for storage and quickly be put back on again?

Peter

Hi Peter, just had a look and I don't think the table is that easy to remove. Mind you it only measures 29" x 8.5" so storage should not be that much of an issue. It's quite heavy mind you.

It's just that the length of the table takes up valuable space that I don't have and it would have been great to be able to take it off when not in use.
