Today was the first day this year that the weather had been warm enough to venture to the shed. Six weeks without turning a thing, it felt like an eternity.

Anyway. I made an attempt at my first "bud vase". The shape didn't work as I was hoping and I should have got rid of the foot, but I am happy enough with the neck. All part of the learning curve.
I think the wood is Oak, it came from a mixed lot and it is 6" tall.

It is a good effort Chas, at least you can work on the base knowing you wasn't happy with it .. The vase is of good shape my friend ..

+1 for the foot not being right. The vase section however is well portioned and nicely turned.

See what you mean about the foot. But that doesn't detract from how well it's been turned mate. Nice one:thumbs:

It looks great Chas, but if you can sort the foot it will look even better.

As everyone else has said Chas, nice form and turning on the vase, will be great without the foot. Off. Off. Off. Off. Ha Ha. Let's see a picture when you've done it mate.
