Hi
Just joined this forum as I intend to make some pens ready for Christmas Presents.
I have made several hanldes for my son who has taken up Blacksmithing as he has huge hands and standard handles do not feel comfortable for him on long days at the forge.
Here's a pic of a 3kg hammer with two handed shaft made from Ash.

Great kick off John the flats on the handle should increase the grip I spent a long time as a sparky in the early years chasing walls to seat conduit as it was done then with a chisel. Greetings from over here mate like the presents theme to give you the reason to start they are fantastic presents always as you will find out mate.

Welcome John, hope you enjoy the forum, there is lots of useful stuff on here. I have to confess I looked twice at the hammer, at first glance I thought that's a heck of a pen, and then I read the post. A really nice handle that.
