Tree ID please

Evening, my daughter has just moved into a new house (to her) that has an established garden. There are numerous trees which I’ve been able to identify, but this one is new to me. Any ideas please? Thanks. Tree is around 30 feet high with a girth if around 8 inches. The leaf is around three fingers wide.

I had some a couple of years ago from a friend who had theirs taken down due to height issues.

Great for carving I understand but not sure about pen turning

I had one as a small Bonsai Chris and one of the names stuck away in the old brain box somewhere but I've also had some timber through my hands many years ago, from memory it was a bit bland but I don't know if that's always the case.

If you have a smart phone get a app called PlantNet. It is free and works. I took a picture of your picture and it confirms it is a Ginkgo.

I am useless at identifying plants and trees but the app is a great help.

Hi Chris, as I said on mine it was a Friend who had theirs removed, can remember the distinct leaf shape. Wouldn't recognise the wood, only the leaf.

The wood wasn't anything special, split to hell as it dried (Even waxed) so it ended up as fire wood.
