Thank's for all comments much appreciated. Jimi, firstly i glued the pieces of wood together, when they were dry i drilled hole through center and mounted on mandrel. Then i used my tenon saw to cut a groove on the joints down to brass tube..Finally i liberated the earth wire from some twin and earth mains cable, formed it round a pen tube insertion tool and glued into groove. Then turned as normal and sanded, then finished with friction polish and super resin silicone polish.
