This is the first triple Celtic I have made. The hardest part was producing the walnut hexagon on a band saw. Then measuring it to get all six sides to within an acceptable tolerance. And of course holding it on the lathe to give a dead centre hole.
I made a piece long enough to give me a second piece to produce another.
The pen is a Zeta the barrel is walnut with dyed tulip wood veneers and alluminium.

Now that's a beauty :thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:

My first reaction is what I said above ,on my third look... when you make the second one, just for aesthetic reasons can you make it with the knot in the top third of the of the barrel (towards the finial), I think it would just give it that extra pzazz. Your choice not mine but I reckon it would just give it that extra lift from very good to more than very good. :praying:

I my introduce a scallop on the bottom section and a double band on the top section. Ensuring the triple knot is in the centre. As it is it's a bit plain I think still nice though.

I think it’s brilliant but adding more might be overkill just moving it up would be good, too much embellishment would detract from the simple but complicated. I can see the technical skill sadly joe punter will only see the colors and knot but knot the 6 sided bit.

Thankfully I am and represent the average punter,therefore I have few preconceived notions for the work you do which is IMHO a way and above average conception and making. My bent in pens has never taken me in this direction however I have a great awareness that enables me to soak up talent when I see it displayed. Years ago in fact 60 yrs ago I remember a guy at a public speaking gathering said of speeches there are three determinants 1. The speech you gave. 2. The speech you prepared and 3.The speech you wish you had delivered. In keeping with this theme thank you for your thoughts,preparation and delivery of this clear demonstration of making and presentation I have enjoyed so much.

Kind regards Peter.:thinks:

Ok take your point about the embellishment. Looking back I think I wanted it in centre but tube stuck before final positioning. :funny::funny:
