Up until yesterday I would say yes across the board BUT visiting a furniture maker he uses a nine foot at least high bandsaw and a large apron sander.

To rip timber the bandsaw uses a .3 of and inch skip tooth blade, the unit has a massive motor at least 8 hp. They cut their own veneer, has auto feed etc. One pass in the broad mouth big sander and its dead smooth I stood open mouthed at the result. So much hand work made obsolete. Where I lived in Mt Gambier in south aus the Pit saws for the natural limestone used for so long for building was cut with hand saws, my grandfather was a stone mason.

I still agree with you...............................................Peter.
