A very unhappy Grump on your hands here.

While moving stuff around in my shed, my tool drawers have either locked themselves and I don't got a clue where the key is???
Or something has jammed inside stopping me from opening them.

To the point, I picked up a oak bench yesterday that makes a great bench for the Emco machine, so I set t up on that.
fitted a brand new bandsaw blade and after just 4 cuts it snapped at the weld, this has greatly displeased me.
More so because I can't get in the drawers to get another one so am abandon the job to get my tool drawers open.

I bought 3 or 4 blades and if they all do the same I will be knocking on someones door init?
I seem to remember somebody else having the same issue with the same company, what was the outcome?

Bloody fuming ain't the half of it init? Drain has gone out to her sister till I calm down.

It is a pain indeed when things break like that, we must have all had it, Best thing is just get on with it and repair em with silver solder it don't take very long! I made up a jig to do it years ago out of scrap bits of metal, if i can find it i will post a pic of it... mind you i have probably saved it somewhere safe as usual and no idea where...:rolling:

Mine is only a small saw turning on 2 x 6" wheels, I dunno if I would trust silver solder to be strong enuf.
But that ain't the point, the point is "fit for purpose" these are brand new not reconditioned or at least that's what I paid for and that's what I expect.
Each blade has to be set for it's own use and getting 4 x 4" cuts simply is not good enuf init?

I stopped buying from them for the same reason with 1" bimetal blade twice and at £35 each I wasn't very happy Jim also had the same problem with there blades I now use Welcome to Just Bandsaw Blades - the Online Shop from NLS Tools

As Woody says, i also had the blades breaking at the weld Brian, they replaced the first one that did that, but after the second one i just went back to the guys Woody has linked to. I never had issue with these guys but reading a thread on here regarding Tuffsaws i went to them .. Big mistake in my opinion ..

I don't buy many blades as I don't use the bandsaw a terrific amount, being skint I sharpen em when they need it so they do last a goodly amount of time.
The only reason I bought these is due to change of machine and the first one don't lasted 5 minutes init?

While looking for my new blades which I still don't found, I came across these 2 new old un's.
Dunno what what they fit but it will be one I don't got no more, sizes are on the unopened packets.
Not the best pics, done on me phone, if anyone can use em, first to reply can have em init?

Tiny Bandsaws are difficult to maintain so many users do have success difficult when you are fighting space in the long run. The firm may come up with answers trust they do.

Thank you all for your advise Ted and Mark I think I'll act on what you suggest.
As nobody wants the blades on offer I might just try that.
I only have half a working shed at the moment, still in disarray from organising the sort out.
I have in the meantime done a little looking at you tube and it seems silver solder is a lot stronger than I had thought.
I have used it inn the past but not on this sort of thing.
Ted I would like to see your jig but I do like the look of this one init?

Cheers for that Ted, it makes a lot of sense, all that's needed is the clamps and straight edge at that point init?
It don't gotta be fancy just practical.

This ain't the first blade that has snapped on me but it is the first new one and the first time I have thought about saving one or cutting them to size.
Looking at the interweb it seems it is common practice to silver solder them and from what I have read and seen on you tube it can be stronger than the original weld.

I have gotten rid of all my metal joining stuff apart from the watch repair gear, found a pencil torch and some brass brazing rods, ally welding and electronic solder, I have some pure-ish silver tape.
None of which will be man enuf for the job so looks like it might be worth investing in a kit for the job, 3 blades and it's paid itself init?
