This ain't the first blade that has snapped on me but it is the first new one and the first time I have thought about saving one or cutting them to size.
Looking at the interweb it seems it is common practice to silver solder them and from what I have read and seen on you tube it can be stronger than the original weld.
I have gotten rid of all my metal joining stuff apart from the watch repair gear, found a pencil torch and some brass brazing rods, ally welding and electronic solder, I have some pure-ish silver tape.
None of which will be man enuf for the job so looks like it might be worth investing in a kit for the job, 3 blades and it's paid itself init?
