I just got a lovely bit of Jarrah Burr which has a number of voids in it.

What's the best way to fill/turn this - should I fill it first then turn it, or turn it roughly to size and fill from there? What should I fill it with?

Should I douse it in thin CA to hold it together?

I haven't turned anything like this before, and really don't want to mess it up - it is a lovely bit of wood!

Alan,

Lord Woody has got it right. However, if you don't have brass powder then infill use using same shavings you removed with the chisel.

is it for pens or something else? if its for pens then fill the voids with sawdust and super thin ca and then sand with ca to make a slurry which fills the voids.

Alan - as has been said filling as you go is the way - however if you do mess it up let me know as I have half of Australia here and plenty of Jarrah Burl and happy to send you a replacement

Thimple save the shavings I keep a hand operated coffee grinder on the wall makes it so easy to CA the shavings. If you turn normally the shavings are peelings really and can create voids. i also use scraps of Ebony it looks very natural. So summing up ground shavings compact best.
