Recently I was fortunate enough to get a pen which is not on the market yet. If I were to turn the blank between centres would I still drill and glue in the barrel then place between centres to turn? Thanks in advance :drool:for helping

yes you could do. be careful that you dont splay the tubes by putting too much pressure between the centres.

The alternative is to turn up a set of bushes from delrin.

I use a Delrin rod turned down as a pen tube insertion tool - occasionally I have to scrape off a bit of glue, and eventually it will wear out, but then I will just turn another one!

Turning between centres, I don't bother with any bushes these days - for some reason they seem to make my pens go out of round (possibly the hole isn't exactly central on the bushes).

As has already been said, don't apply too much pressure.
