I've been trying to make some bullet twist pens and went through six mechanisms during assembly. Some where too slack for the top tube and others too tight for the bullet casing, these ones collapsed.:sob:
Seems the slack ones had no nodules (if thats the correct term). Unfortunately I don't remember where I bought them as I tend to put the kits all together in a box when I receive them.:rolling:
Anybody had similar occurrences with twist mechanisms? :thinks:

I've not had any problems with them. Let that be a lesson to you and keep the ones from different suppliers separate I always leave them in the bags they came in, that way I know where they were from.

Only ever had one shat itself in the pen it blew apart grease everywhere, only noticed as I was giving the pen away. I have had a very few locked up but I always check for that and also press with the mech extended.

Peter.

I had this happen to me after I soldered the tubes into the cases, I couldn't get a reamer for the diameter I needed, so sanded internal of the tube till the transmission fitted them.
I then made an expander so I can expand the tube slightly before soldering them into the case.
