I made two more very simple segmented pens with just two 45 deg cuts today I have included some photos of the blanks before turning because of the nature of these blanks they have to be made exactly to the length of the tubes so drilling has to be exactly right dead centre and straight I have also included a photo of starting to drill into the ones with metal on the ends using a centre drill as a drill bit could skip across the metal and drill off centre that is why I use centre drills and started drilling with a 7mm drill then worked my way up 1mm at a time also great care must be taken when drilling these blanks because of the different hardness of each materials .
One pen made with black & white plastic with African blackwood and yew the other aluminium and plastic sandwich with wenge and spalted hawthorn enjoy

I do appreciate the time, effort and construction involved. The finished result is amazing Woody. Certainly a task for a craftsman. Beautiful pens mate.

Peter.
