Penpal
Grand Master
In 1985 in India I hired a car for a day with a guy who had connections(huge family of relatives) he drove me around to the Hanging Gardens world wonder plus touristy things in Bombay as it was known then for about twenty bucks Australian I asked him about precious gems etc yes he said drove me to a cousins emporium who dealt in these. When we arrived (only ones in the shop at the time they locked the front door (mild panic stuff for me) my guide speaking English to me and dialect to them and I bought three handsfull of diamond earrings, all manner of moonstone sets, emeralds rubies and a lot of beautiful stones. The Indian Law only allowed a fixed amount on bankcard so they post dated a month apart the total as the prices were modest for top stuff I got three post dated card bills I could easily pay when I returned home. My round the world 7 weeks trip because a top urologist had just given me 3 mths to live with Cancer and with 5 daughters and my son plus my dearly beloved I was buying future stones for settings , presents for the family.
So dear readers hence the scattered remains after all these years around the Pen just one pic why cause I can and feel the bling phase is now over one pen does it.
A 60s yr friend for well over 50 yrs since he was very young has an Opal mine and as I mentioned before I ran into him as I do infrequently and he agreed to make me an Opal setting for this pen top. The timber is Golden Amboyna Burl man this larger pen making the timber thickness is so thin I will venture into seldom.
I dragged out my fancy four faced cutter tool and have been using it ever since one to take it easy with no rush of blood stuff ever with this tool discretion the greater part of valour.
A few pics later this was the result.
Kind regards Peter.
