This blank and a few more like it were sent down to me by a friend. He was unsure of what type of of wood - Crosscut of African Blackwood possibly. Your ideas more than welcome.
Finished with CA and then Renaissance.
Was a pig to cut and sand....:down:
The grain that is showing is extremely subtle and I love it.:drool:

I'd have said African Blackwood as well but will wait for the experts (the two Neils and Dave (lignaterrae)) to let us know :wink:

A very nice pen well turned and finished, having seen your work first hand this looks like it is up there with them:thumbs::thumbs::thumbs:. The grain shows enough for someone who picks it up will know it is wood
