Unknown Wood???

This blank and a few more like it were sent down to me by a friend. He was unsure of what type of of wood - Crosscut of African Blackwood possibly. Your ideas more than welcome.
Finished with CA and then Renaissance.
Was a pig to cut and sand....
The grain that is showing is extremely subtle and I love it.

I had a piece of Macassar Ebony and it showed the same grain as you have there.
