Copyright laws on logos have been relaxed, I am unsure as to what exactly has been relaxed or to what extent.
I received a letter from my patents agent some 2 or 3 years ago telling me that he would no longer renew something due to a change in the law.
It was about the company logo but as the company is dormant I took no notice and filed it in the bin.
I now wish I had taken notice and could be your expert, alas that is not the case.
Certainly worth looking up at the copyrights office to find out for yourself.
