Using a metal lathe chuck to hold mandrel converted with adapter

Used this for many many years with a cut off machine bolt for a mandrel. Made the nose cone to avoid busted knuckles had a fitted sleeve in the centre.

I like the idea Peter..:thumbs: but I have once caught my knuckles once on the chuck, you tend to make sure you don't do it again.

But since being on the tabs and using things that spin around a little fast you can easily forget what's spinning..:goesred:

Been close a few times..:pray:

Just didn't realise you guys had as much rust in Oz as we did..:wink:

Been used seldom now I have many chucks but its a great fall back situation with the adapter removed still beaut on the Hercus. These days theres rust on the owner it took years to occur as well easy fixed.

I like my cover never any cuts or whacks on the knuckles I used to make large numbers of pens thinking big.
