Has anyone any idea where I can buy a Venturi here in the UK to be able to create a vacuum from my compressor. Please help.

You can use your compressor inlet as a vacuum Ray

However if it's a new ish one I would advise using an old one as it can reduce the life depending on the compressor.

I have used the 12v tyre compressors in the past.

But it all depends on what vacuum you need and what your compressor is capable of.

If the purpose of the vacuum is turning on the lathe I use an old vacuum cleaner with my Vicmark vac attachments. Works great just have to remember to turn off the lathe before the vac.

TBH Ray, many have tried before you and the only way to do it well and successfully is a suitably set up system.

If you search "vacuum" you will find many threads with the same question and I know Bammer has looked in to it including having the correct "cactus juice" is expensive.

In my opinion investing in the equipment and the juice then you may as well go commercial and start to supply the pen turning fraternity.

Using vacuum and compression both have serious standards in industry, what with implosian and explosion , using equipment require you to do further homework. There are many members on this forum can testify to the correct equipment, precautions etc.

I have seen the results from using unsafe systems. It pays to be cautious.

If you are near a hospital, try there they often through out old Vac pumps.

I have one from the University where I worked, two ex refrigeration mechanics efficient compressors I picked up through newspaper ads.
