Very lucky/ clumsy

Hi all,
A word to the wise,
I am a manual worker in my daily job, I am a carpenter at a school. Whilst in a rush to do something today I should have used a vice to hold it, instead I held it in my left hand and when I applied toooo much pressure to the 01phillips screwdriver in my right hand it slipped.... Yes you have guessed correctly I screwed my left hand.....
I am okay...
Ordinarily I wouldn't mention this BUT!!
I did my first aid protocol, padding, pressure and elevate!!, but was surprised by the lack of blood from the wound.... It wasn't until I turned my hand over and saw the golf ball sized lump developing.... A&E time

So please everyone.. Less haste in what you do and if you have an incident it may not be apparent straight away!

I was able to use the 'Bad Luck Mate ' symbol but don't understand why Phil thought it needed a lucky 4-leafed shamrock!
Hope the hand doesnt give you too much gipp.

Wise words Mark. If we all took just a few seconds to think the world would be a safer place. The words we should never use in this context ‘ I was being careful’. I am sure we have all done it, but if your experience can make us think twice next time that is one more injury avoided. Thanks for sharing.

Yes Mark, always good to remind ourselves of how easily a small mistake can lead to significant consequences, although preferably without practical examples of course!

I nearly had a similar accident a while back and then I saw this video. They are only £1.99 at ToolStation so I bought two, and a box of DeWalt PZ2 x 25mm bits.

Look on the bright side I was sawing a branch today ready for it to go into a fire tomorrow evening, I rested it on a pile of concrete blocks and my left hand slipped catching a finger under the branch it drew blood and now is throbbing like mad. Because of the tablets I am on I bleed like a stuck pig blood everywhere you would think it was a major accident only to be as small as 3mm across.:hororr:

But it is true , when you interfere in the world, it has the habit of biting you in the ass somewhere along the line!!
Make sure the next thing you do with your hands is use the offending driver successfully!
