Afternoon all,
I was musing about making a really short fountain pen and came up with this one.

Turned from Olive Ash, lined with a brown Semplicita acrylic, sporting a steel Bock #5 076 nib to give it a 'balanced' look. The cap doesn't post…. yet - maybe in version 2 - and it takes a cartridge.

The pen is single threaded and the cap can be removed within 3.5 turns. Making it well suited for a handbag or laptop case - the cap will not turn off on its own!

Although shown here with a steel nib, I think a gold plated nib may be less jarring on the eyes. Closed length is 115 mm, and open is 111 mm. Although the cap isn't postable, it is well balanced in the hand. Perhaps V2.1 will have a postable cap.

A very interesting and well thought out designed pen. Very nice Chris, well done mate.

Thanks - using Ash was the key. The cap was turned down to 1 mm thickness on an acrylic inner, trying to keep the cap diameter down to
14 mm. Too wide and the pen looked ugly. An exercise in 'if I can' I guess.
