Apart from the three pens in another thread, I also made a replica "Viking Cup" similar to those found in York and Waterford

I think it angles up too much, should have been slightly straighter :thinks:

I doubt if you could find a viking that would tell you the sides need to be straighter Chas, its very good.

Does it just have a flat base ?
What wood is it and what finish?

Thanks Phill. Yes it does just have a flat base, although the sides cure into it (not shown up very well in the photo)
The wood is ash, finished with sanding sealer and three coats of food safe finish

great job. ash always has a nice grain and you have managed to bring that out with your finish:thumbs:
