I've got a small quantity of Burr that I've cut into blanks, I tried turning one the other night and found that there's small voids in it that are full of (muck/bark/mud) not sure what but as I hit final size I had a chunk fallout so that I could see the brass tube.

I've not tried any of the last 3 pieces I have yet as I think it'll all have these small voids in, is there anything I can so with it or is it fire wood ? Will try and grab a photo later.
