Trust me its not flimsy this is yew and the metal is almost the length of the handle and it is for turning pens only.

Off for a ruby Murray tonight then hopefully a couple of days in the workshop to finish off the bits & pieces I've been asked for for Christmas, Monday sees the start of the festivities for me & the pandemonium begins :eeeeek::eeeeek:

Well i am shopping tomorrow:sob: and then there installing a new bridge at the local railway station so might just have to go have a look there only using a crane with a 500 ton lift capacity :itscool::itscool:

Not a lot Terry well not enough to make it worth while about £600 in all for 16 days plus the time it took to make the stuff all people wanted was the grotto and nothing else but you don't know if you don't try good job its my last one

I hope i can get something made this weekend, we have no kids coming over, they decided to give us a break lol .. Just a bit of Christmas shopping tomorrow and the rest of the time is mine ... :winking:

The main one Jim is to make a jig for squaring off my blanks for the new sander that I bought at Harrogate. The other is just a thought at the moment so not worth commenting on.
I think the sanding jig will be of great benefit and it is based on ideas that I have picked up from forums. I intend to make a sled that will slide across the face of the disc sander. On the sled will be a piece of angle iron and on the angle will be mounted a drill chuck. I will put transfer punches in the chuck that suit whatever tube and barrel to be squared. When you slide the sled across the sanding face it will give a perfectly squared blank and at the same time will be using the full face of the sanding disc.
