As Phillip was kind enough to demonstrate his tea light holder I thought the least I could do was to give it a go. :think:

Now I don't recommend holding the blank as I did to start off but with the tail stock bought up I felt confident to attack this piece of slightly spalted Beech.:whistling:

I was pleased with the end result until I managed to buff the nice sharp corners off on the polishing mop :goesred:

Very nice Doug, could you give some detail on how you held it, I'm probably a numpty but I can't figure it out :goesred:

It was held between centres as shown in the first photo Ray, a spigot turn on the tail stock end, again as the photo. It was then reversed & the spigot held in pin jaws, the tea light recess was cut & the top finished, finally it was reversed again, this time being held in 2" jaws via the tea light recess & the base finished.
Hope that makes sense :nooidea:

Great job Doug the end product looks good. I know what you mean I held a piece this way a long time ago to make a small bowl I have always wanted to make a bigger version
