Its strange that we've been talking about Teak (Davids post). I made this, this afternoon. Its from the offcuts of the new pier in Weston super mare. Finished with a few coats of wax.

Heart of Teak lots of jolly tars on the forum it appears to have some red so thats cheerful and may have no peer today. Exciting to have local stories in pens.

Lovely bit of turning Paul.Looking at the wood I would have said it was from the old pier. Not that I'm an expert !!!!!:thumbs:

I know what you mean Terry. This was a bit that I'd cut up and was a little bit more special. I waxed it instead of ca'ing it because of the white flecs you get in teak if you ca it and thats why its a bit darker.

I really like it Paul but looking at the wood I would have said it looked really old and with plenty of character if that is the right word !!!!
