I'm new the wood turning and very much learning as I go on.

One thing that really impresses me is how supportive other woodturners are!

I'm Keiron, 32 years old, I live in midwales and have a very small workshop in my garage. I say work shop, it consists of a table saw, planer thicknesser, bench drill and my favourite machine... my old draper wood lathe. I purchased the lathe a few years ago from eBay. It was cheap and came with some tools. I turned a few things but wasn't confident and so it soon became a shelf for other things. I moved house and set up my single garage into a bit of a workshop. My lathe is the centre piece. I guess you could say I have the gear, but I have no idea. I made a pen for my wife to be from elm and the kit was from Stile & Bates. She was so impressed with it. This made me a bit for confident and so I really want to use it more now.

I think I'd like to start with pen making until I'm ready to turn bigger and more decorative pieces. I am open to as much held and advice as you all are willing to give!

Thank you for taking the time to read my introduction!

Welcome to a great place. Most on here don't bite so ask away there normally is someone who will know the answer.

Nice to have you with us Keiron, welcome. Remember, you don't have to be mad to turn, but it helps.:banana:

Welcome Kieron. I am sure you will find plenty to interest you here, not just pens but other things to temp you on your journey. As others have said, never be afraid to ask, it is how we all learn.
