What do you do with wood shavings?

Hi all, 76 year old newbie here. I've been turning pens for a couple of months now and am enjoying it. My wood shavings have been going in the compost heap, too soon to see if they are breaking down yet.
I've now just started turning with acrylic and wood.
My question is what do other turners do with the waste? I'm not going to be spreading acrylic around the garden!
Any suggestions?

Hello Ray
Welcome to the forum.

For my Acrylic Waste (a fair amount of it) I compact it down into a little block.
Think of the Paper Log Presses and that's what I use, something like this:

My son has mine at the moment as he is compacting wood shaving / sawdust for wood briquettes

I then put those blocks into a plastic bag and drop them in the recycle bin.
