Nowt wrong with the idea, I always do it with my crop ends but wait till I have enough crop ends so I can pick colours that blend together. This way I can have a colourful pen that is not an assault on the eyes. It's very nicely turned & finished.
I did ask myself that when I saw this.
What on this earth have you created?
Stick in a drawer and look at it every month to remind you of what not to do ever again init?
A good bit of segmenting with very good joints well turned and finished I remember seeing one of these that Bill made and it looked good the only difference is bill matched his bits up so don't give up on the idea just save more bits for a good match up good luck with your next one I sometimes save the bits for centre bands on wooden pens
I mentioned one time I was asked what was my wifes favourite colour well after64 yrs yes I was wrong telling me never to try to tell what colours or combinations appeal to others. Having a look every day on the road and in ads etc twould be a brave person to assume an ideal colour or combination. With pens put it out there never comment listen and be amazed the answers will confound us.
