I personally wouldn't bother with a drill press if you are only going to do one thing with it, when you already have something in the workshop to do just that. Save the space for another tool.

The buffing system can be used for many things, not just pens or bowls.

Neither,buy pen kits,make them and sell them and more than double your money.Then get the buffing system with the profits.

I made my choice because I do more than pen turn so get most value from the drill press, but I may get another lathe at some point…. However I’ll already have the press

Get the drill press and make the polishing set up (thimple).

Neither. I’d probably spend it on tools or chuck jaws.
