The problem with it as I see it, apart from the twin centrebands, which just don't fit in with modern perceptions of a ballpoint pen, is the the components all look, well, Chinese. I don't mean from a quality point of view, I mean from a cultural point of view. Think chinese architecture, festivals, objet d'srt, even street markets and so on, and the kit oozes it. Fine if you're in China, but western tastes don't generally seem to buy in to the same ethos. There is another kit out there, called a Lancer, which suffers from exactly the same problem.
