After a week of making a jig I have now completed the front wheels for the half track I am working on. As I enjoy making wooden toys/models it will not go to waste. A quick pic of the jig and then the wheels followed by one of them dry fitted to the chassis, I lost count of the number of parts but at the last count for what you see is over 115 pieces and that is without the track which there are 62 links,62 guides and 62 pins. And that is only the beginning as there is all of the superstructure to do.

I can see you love making these vehicles but you attention to detail, are you a secret steam engine enthusiast as well as they go to your lengths of detail to make things.

A live steam lorry, that sounds good, unfortunately that needs a lot machining an engineering tooling.

Seems like a hundred years ago but more like seventy my brother in law used to drive the then huge semis all around Australia. The main roads were not sealed. On one trip from NSW to Western Australia and then up to the nth of Austalia around the coast of WA one trip he had 23 tyre failure. They the drivers were real cowboys you had to be tough to survive.
We had our 62nd Wedding anniversary in the last couple of days.

I have been asked by many toymakers for a set of plans but I will be doing a pdf of the build as well as drawings, many of those from an Australian forum in the toy section as well as quite a few on an American one.

He still drags his tool bag out and sits on a stool and puts wood in the vice and hammers it, then goes indoors to tell my wife that he is making something with tracks but it is a secret that is because I am making the half track at the moment.
