Which double sided tape to use ?

Carpet tape Steve as long as it isn't the foam type as that "gives" too much and it will ripple. As me how I know that :goesred:
Whenever I do it these days I use a glue gun which I find a much better option. Some of that tape is bloody hard to scrape off.

Be careful what double sided tape you use if it is too good you can break the strips when taking them off the board. What wood are you trying to thin down and how wide a strip. I have made a board that hooks over the in and out feed of my thicknesser so that it becomes the new table and then run the strips through on top of that so no need to use DS tape, this does however depend on the wood you are using. If it does not matter what the wood is another idea is to go to a radio control model shop as the sell thin strips of wood especially used by model boaters, I know this as I have a draw full of it left over from my models

A vacuum set up can be your friend. I am about to do weather sealing just spent two hours yesterday looking a different double sided stuff myself.
