Not counting the Slimline .. I used to turn many Euro kits but i went right off them believing that they became an ugly kit, plus i found them hard to sell ... Plus when i gave them away i didn't feel comfortable due to that fact that i thought they were ugly ... Which kit do you feel the same about ... :nooidea:

Depends whose site you see it on I think, different names ( marketing bullsh*t :whistling: )

I vote for Polaris and those girly Sierras with the dangly crystals on.

Not that my opinion counts for much as a newbie !

The filagree does it for me, overly pimped.
I have turned a couple of Pazazz's (acrylic) uses a lot, they are OK but they didn't get sold very fast.

Polaris for its engineered lack of quality, the panache/pazazz, for having absolutely no panache or pazazz, the filligree for being complete pants in design, the weight is really poorly distributed, and the royalty, princess and the dangly bits pen for not being designed at all, they were arrived at during some camp conference by a group who couldn't even manage a blue peter badge between them.

With my limited experience, of the few kits I have turned ..the Euro and Filigree stand out as being the ugliest..or it may be it's my fault that they look as ugly as they do !!

I personally don't like the slimline which I usually beef up with a fatter ring and turn into a streamline which gives it more generous proportions. I don't like the euro because I seemed always to ruin the bloody things when gluing in that cursed centre band :sob: I once made a plain green acrylic polaris especially for Brian Wilson (Grump). The moderator blanked his reply before I had a chance to see it

I went off the euro pen as it seemed to rattle and the shape is always bland.

I have made a number of pens over the last two years, mostly because I just wanted to try them. It appears that most appear to have been flops as far as sales go. Below, you will find a little chart of what pens sold and which ones don't in my south Texas area So far this year I have sold 75 pens. The chart looks like poop when I submit it.

2 Amer. Classic Fountain 0 Gatsby/Wall Street Ballpoint
1 Amer. Classic Rollerball 1 Necklace, Magnetic
0 Amer. Classic Pencil 0 Olympian Fountain Pen
1 Artisan Fountain Pen 0 Olympian Rollerball Pen
36 Bolt Action Pen 4 Princess Ballpoint
3 Bullet Pen 2 Slimline Ballpoint
1 Double Bullet 0 Slimline Pencil
1 Cigar Pen 3 Slimline Click Pen
0 Click Ballpoint 9 Slimline Special Clips
0 Comfort Pen 1 Slimline Pen & pencil Set
0 Crown Jewel Ballpoint 9 Slimline Stylus Pen
1 Designer Pen 75 TOTAL

That's a novel way of doing it Ray I would end up gluing the centre band to my fingers or in my pocket or god only knows where.
In defence of the poor Euro which is taking a proper kicking here, it didn't ask you to glue it, it is a slimline or derivative of and just as adaptable.
Longer, shorter, fatter, thinner, with or without tennon, centre band, cummerband, brass band, two piece, one piece or hair piece.
Jim made a comment recently about using imagination, I vote for that.
All the kits mentioned here are as good or as bad as the creator, don't like the filigree? Don't put the filigree on, use the Polaris finial and create a poligree or filaris.
Come on are we creative or do we have to rely on what we are told to do? Be like Ray don't make a tennon as the instructions say. use glue.
Stop moaning about our lot and let's show them what got.
Sorry Ray Brian made me say that. He also said wotchya mate, poke your poxy green polaris and various unmentionable words init?

Brian always did have a lovely turn of phrase. By the way I've told him if he doesn't join this forum I will drive up to Stevenage and sit on him until he does
