Hiya Guys,

A little artistic advice please. I've just ordered a couple of these,

with the intention of turning a fountain pen / roller ball mistral set.
My issue is all the choices of finish. I tend to like golds with red but i was wondering what you fine folk would go for?

Many Thanks

you also want to try out the back painting colour- black and white will give completely different effects. I have never used other paint colours, but I know that some members do.

I have seen a piece of long dowel painted with a number of colours. You then drill the blank, and try each colour to see which you like most. Not dowe it myself. Personally, I am still at the stage where I buy double the amount of blanks, and try one with black and one with white, before cooing at the different effects that it produces!

Gold with Rhodium accents

But I would go with a Fountain pen and Ballpoint set, rather than the Roller ...

That's pretty much what I was thinking, but brings up another question.....
Why the ball point over the Roller? I liked the idea of a matching pair.

In my opinion, I don't believe a fountain pen user would bother with a rollerball. I usually end up splitting the sets ive made. Plus there is a chance of mixing up the caps

But a matching fountain pen and ballpoint will allow the end user to have the quick option of a ballpoint, say carrying it around in their pocket and have the FP on the desk.

Be annoying taking the cap off a RB when you wanted the fountain

Just my opinion.
