I had a SIP it was rubbish, lasted just over the year, so out of warranty, very little work done with it, SIP after sales was useless so I binned it

Whatever you choose make sure it has quick change blade and variable speed the Excalibur is now under the Axminister trade name and is the one I use Axminster Trade Series EX-16 Scroll Saw - Scroll Saws - Saws - Machinery | Axminster Tools & Machinery expensive but nice. Second hand market look for Hegner, Delta, DE Walt or Excalibur but with quick change blade otherwise it will make you crazy if you do a lot of internal cuts. There are certain Hegner models you can get a quick blade change kit for, but I would check with them before committing to a purchase if the saw has not got the quick change fitted.

I use the 16 inch Excalibur & it's very good quality indeed.:thumbs::thumbs: I seem to use the tilting arm a lot more that i thought i would for various projects & have settled on Pegas blades mainly Skip Reverse, 3's & 5's tend to get used the most. Blade changing is a doddle & vary rarely have to change the tension. Overall i would recommend the Excalibur range. :thumbs:

Yes I have a multicut 1 VS and love it so Hegner for me too. The Axminster EX models look pretty good though.
