I have been asked if I have a pen made of willow. I haven't tried this wood as anyone else used it

Willow is for some strange reason is avoided by a lot of turners I have turned quite a lot of it in the past and it can be quite bland to quite nice but there are things you can do to make it interesting like bowls and vases can be textured and coloured pend can be segmented and made interesting personally to me wood is wood and I will turn anything even privet hedge give it a try then you can make an educated decision on the wood for yourself some of the blandest wood to me are the best Boxwood, Holly can be so bland but a real joy to turn
