Winged Box/Bowl

I haven't had a chance to turn much recently due to a job change and horrible shift patterns, but I managed an afternoon in the shed and turned this winged box/bowl. The bowl is Olive Wood, the lid is Blackwood and the finial is a Pau Amarello pen blank. I pictured it with a large Ash bowl I turned a couple of weeks ago to show the size and scale differences

Love the bowl and your finish on both bits looks spot on not sure on the box the bowl and lid look a bit chunky for me but a good effort none the less

Lovely bowl, agree with Woody in that the box is a bit chunky for my liking, especially the finial, wish I could take photographs like that though!

I like them, however I agree with Woody.

Would also liked to see the small one turned a little deeper in the bowl.. But apart from that looks superb.

Agree with Neil.. Wish i could take pics like that as well..:envy:

Thanks for the comments. I think I agree with most about the chunkiness , especially the finial.(assuming you're talking about the turning and not me!!!)
