The wife asked if I could make a new wooden spoon for cooking with (she does do a bit of stirring :whistling:) what wood is safe to use?? :nooidea:

Top of the list is Beech for me. That is not the only one as many will give you more later I am sure.

Not that you will but a word of warning to anyone considering doing it.
Don't use pallet wood or recycled from unknown source, you never know what may have been spilled on it or impregnated with.
My choice would be Beech from a clean source.

I used maple

was a bit tough to carve out but it goes through the dishwasher along with everything else
