Over here we made our own shows for many years inviting visiting demo people to our wood club accomodating them and sharing the visitors charges when they came to Australia for demos far away. Worked out fine, as well we invited the interstate dealers to our meetings with a free reign to demonstrate and sell. They came from different countries, the Arts Council sponsored some famous turners for weekend workshops.

With your really close proximity both to each other and near countries it should be possible for you as well. Start the ball rolling you never know how far you can go.

There are so many U Tube people in the UK to draw on as well. There have been gatherings organised by Neil and others to share, learn and sell in the past. Benefits go both ways Neils School benefited on the way.

Chisel manufacturers in England came to our Clubs, demonstrated and sold at a bonus rate. Try not to wait give it a go. Supporting your local dealers can be of great assistance so far these people have given discounts on a regular basis, prizes etc. Make the next good cause be for Forum Members.

Have fun I will never forget three days with Mick Odonnell from Nth Scotland a lots of others from France and the US Dick Sing, Australians like Richard Raffan attract their fellow experts. Never underestimate the value of people around you from time to time if they are in the area you are in a good place to receive new ideas and product. The word gets out from one to another they have a good time as well.

Peter.

It's because us Northerners spend our money at the Shows :whistling:

oooo that smarts, we have money down here.

On a brighter note, Yandles in Somerset have some "events" coming up. The first is on Saturday the 4/2/17 then there is one two weeks later.
Don't know what they are like but i will be going to the first one, want to buy a couple of chisels, see Vic we spend money as well :thumbs:

:

As stated above Yandles have events, they mat well be like Axminsters like an attraction to get you there. here is the link with their events through the year. Take no notice of the first one at the top for 2013 the 2017 events listed below, six of them.
Events at Yandles - Yandle and Sons Ltd

May be better than a poke in the eye, the Eessex one is a definite one though, a 200 mile round trip for me but better than a 700 mile round trip.

Probably yes!:whistling::funny:

D+M tool show, Yandles, European woodworking show. S. East show was there as well but they gave up on that as you have so many shows and so many tight wads!:funny:

We have Harrogate, and the odd open day at Snainton woodturning!:ciggrin:

I tried visiting the South once and came to the conclusion someone had made it up!
If you follow all the South signs on the motorway they run out, then you just get one saying The North!:fart::funny:
