I joined one when I started turning to try and find out how its done.  The members were very warming to new blood and the set up is good.  I felt at first out of my depth but now I fit in fine.  We have 30 members ranging from 17 - 70+ and nobody tried to outshine another.  Some are very good turners and some not so good but that doesn't matter and we encourage all work to be shown which most people do.  I've learned a lot of my woodturning from this club and we've had some superb demonstrators in-house and professional.  We've also done a few trips and the last one was to Axminster where we had a full day with a few demonstrations, shown around the factory and warehouse(much more interesting than it sounds) and all in all was great.

Because I'm in IT and the fact that anybody who does anything with computers knows all about them!!! I was asked and have now built the web site for the club.  It might be a bit OTT but I've enjoyed giving back a bit to what I've gained from.  Weston Woodturning Circle | A Woodturning Club in Weston-super-Mare
