This was my third attempt at doing this Vertex Workshop / Sketch pencil from PTI via Turners Retreat. I was after a rustic looking finish, the first 2 in black ash & london plane burr, were so rustic they both blew out. So I decided to look for something a little more robust amongst the blanks (got to be wood for a workshop pencil) and came up with this Laburnum, which comes from a garden in Yorkshire via Neil Lawton.

I really like these kits, well made and you end up with quite an hefty pencil, I will be making more, could just do with a cheaper supply of them.
