Spent years in out of around and about Airports as a Technician we used to have to check every afternoon the runway lighting the bay indicator direction lighting all vehicles were painted this colour cause it does not blend in it stands out, regarded as the safest colour car on the road as well. Yellow with black writing. One day up in the control tower where we used to liase with them and incoming outgoing Aircraft movements the Airport was shared at that time with the RAAF who were doing landings and bumps with a spotter plane a tiny Auster the guy in the Tower said I cant see you, with that a giant gust of wind and the plane flipped forward on its nose buried in the tarmac it was camoflaged, then a very irate now can you bleeding see me. I was always grateful for that yellow paintwork( this was in the 1960,s.
