Another dodgy photo - a workshop/sketch pencil with a ca finish. A piece of ancient elm and a lot of ca in the cracks. I like to make these in one piece - I'm not keen on the centre band.

Very nice indeed. I've not been keen on these before and now I know why. The centre band.
By making a single piece pencil you've made the kit look a lot better

Glad people like it - I put the joiner in and then stick it in my little old Unimat and turn the band down to the tube diameter. I've managed that on the wood lathe but the Unimat makes life easier!

Love the effect and recommend a pen rest in my workshop that would be a great help always know where to find it contrary to opinion these pens have importance in the home the suggested name is just that after so many years of broken skinny lead they are a pleasure.

Thanks for the kind words.:goesred: I am suddenly getting orders for them - having sold one at a local craft fair a few weeks ago, folk have seen it and decided they want one! Must be doing something right for once. :fingers:
