Hi I have a chance of a workzone wood lathe 400w for £50 , only review I could find says they are rubbish, anyone got one ?????

It all depends what you want to do and if you are willing to put up with the pain of getting stuff modified to suit the headstock thread. It has an 18x2.5 pitch which is NONE standard and can not get chucks or faceplates off the shelf.
I think £40 sheets is OTT in my opinion as they were only £89 new.
In my opinion you would be better looking for a 2nd hand Axminster or record lathe,
They workzone will spin a bit of wood but limited to what you can do with it as far as “extras” is concerned

I am not saying they are bad but if you own a boat buy it as an anchor it will get more use that way. Seriously as Eamonn says finding bits to fit is a right royal pain in the a**e. Save up for something better and you will not regret it Clarke lathes use to be the same.
Lathes which have a 3/4" X 16, 1 X 8 and the more commonly M33 x 3.5mm which a lot of manufacturers seem to be heading towards.
Turning can become very expensive so picking the correct lathe will start you in the right direction

The only thing I wouldn't add is go for MT2 (Morse Taper size 2) head and tail stock fitting.
Oh, and if you wanted to use it as an anchor make sure it's unplugged first..

I am all for the No 2 morse taper in the head and tail stock also a reasonable length on the bed, a minimum of at least 9 inches swing helps.Also spinning on true easily replaceable bearings better than fixed ones that require constant lubricatin.
